FS error / please assist

If you don't find anything in /var/log/ (like Mike Bird mentioned 
already), you could try to catch the messages with a digital camera. Or 
you could boot in recovery mode and see if the messages appear before you 
get your root shell. Then you could scroll back with shift-pgup. But 
uninstall package "friendly-recovery" before trying this because that 
package will overwrite some of the messages with a menu.
