best graphics card for "out of the box"

I would respectfully beg to differ. The best video card for Ubuntu now 
is the one that you install Ubuntu and can enable all the whiz-bang 
effects on without weird behavior, lockups, crashes, or artifacts 
appearing on the screen, nor will have to tinker with to find out what 
combination of options and/or effects cause some oddball effect to 
happen in the middle of typing a letter in Open Office...the card should 
allow you to play with eye candy or scale it back to a very simple, 
utilitarian text interface or any range in between without a marathon 
session of 
"ohsh#@#$whyisn'titworkingthistimeandIhavetoleaveinfiveminutes..."

That is the best one.
