Ubuntu freezes randomly

| Just a wild guess, but do you have a swap file? You can check by running

| 	swapon -s
|
| in a terminal.

have you verified its not a hardware issue or overheating?  sounds alot
like what happens when a laptop I have overheats.  Checked
/var/log/messages?
