shouldn't dist-upgrade the persistent-live system?

another thing related to persistent-live
am now afraid of doing dist-upgrade on the persistent-live system on
my usb-flash
cuz last time when i did it
it blame be about the grub related thing (yes i can imagine why)
and it made reboot unavailable ..

well maybe should have tried shutting down and booting again but ... well
don't wanna do the upgrade if it's not safe ... don't wanna re-install
and setup anymore ...
am updating and adding or removing the packages ...
then .. someday ... no upgrade will bring in conflicts?

what if the linux-image got upgraded ...
that will try to update the grub even though the system is syslinux
oriented ... right?
this has nothing to do with my no-reboot experience?
