8.10: SiS AC'97 soundcard no longer detected

I had that problem with my Audigy.  In my case, I had to deselect the
checkbox for "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack"; someone else mentioned
that his PCM volume had gone to zero.  I'd try checking simple settings
like these first to see if something's out of place.
