WPA and All Other Connections Fail After Upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10

Yes, wpasupplicant is installed. I did say I configured nm-applet. It
has the user name, password, type of WPA security (WPA 2 Enterprise,
PEAP), etc. It tries to connect and always brings up the security panel
that shows the configuration for WPA. It just NEVER connects. It always
connected under 8.04. I have the same setup under 8.10 that I had under
8.04. After installing 8.10 (full install - not an upgrade), all the
wireless connections (except to my home wep connection), failed even
though they are configured the same as for 8.04. I was able to get the
non-wpa ones to work with some fiddling (granting an exception).
