Yupe, unetbootin does the trick, booting Ubuntu 8.04 ISO file in 1 GB USB sticks I can confirm works fine.
OOT a bit, however, I was once nearly pull my hair out trying to boot USB stick prepared by unetbootin in a Zyrex Ubud (I think an exact spec duplicate of Everex Cloudbook in U.S.) But I eventually solved it using USB-to-IDE adapter which come relatively cheap here -- around 15 US dollar -- and a DVD-RAM player. It turned out to be Cloudbook's BIOS problem since booting from that USB on other PC works flawlessly.
So I think it depends on A10 BIOS as well when trying to boot from USB sticks.
