One of my brother's jobs/contracts is to maintain a webshop that's built 
in OScommerce.

He dislikes it greatly. From what I gather, there're rampant 
inconsistencies in the code, and odd implementations of chaos theory 
(changing the width of an image breaks the subtotal calculation, for a 
made up example that's in a similar vein to reality)

I've not seen anyone have any experience of anything else, though, so 
can't really comment on the options available.
