Build and install v4l-dvb from linuxtv.org on Ubuntu 8.04.1

Hello All

What is the correct procedure to build the v4l-dvb "out of kernel tree" 
source in Ubuntu 8.04.1?

I got the source with: hg clone http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb
Did "make" and "sudo make install"

After plugging my USB webcam, I get the following:

So it looks like I have the wrong videodev module. But the build went 
fine, so it must have seen the correct headers for videodev.

Anyone knows what i am doing wrong? Or can one tell me how she/he got 
the v4l-dvb source from linuxtv.org working in Ubuntu 8.04.1?
