It's there so that those of us who just can't stand to play within the rules
can do dangerous things to our systems. It's _not_ there so that a vendor
can create a sloppy package for newbies to install.
If I make my own package (which I've been known to do) and install it, it
may have various conflicts. It's actually very useful for me to
then --force those conflicts to see what the side-effects are - but I'd
never release that package to the public.
