cant ping external website

well i was on the 10th net all this time
and now what i did was that i changed it to the main internet and put a
cable directly frmo the router
and used the instruction
ifconfig eth0 132.230.139.65 broadcast 132.230.139.255 netmask 255.255.255.0
route add default gw 132.230.139.254
and now its working
but i still dont understand why this wouldnt work with the 10th net as i
have other computers working with this
