Best Backup software for Ubuntu 8.10

I am looking for a easy to set up backup software for ubuntu 8.10. I have
once tried AMANDA but the setup was so difficult that I gave up when virtual
tape drives crashed when I wanted to label them. I need to backup from linux
and windows XP computers. Please help me, I cant decide what to use since I
have no experience with backuping.
