Best Backup software for Ubuntu 8.10

I have to disagree, if you can use cron, rsync is quite simple to set up as
a backup tool.  Just set up a cron job to rsync those folders you need to
your backup drive/remote location.  I admit, there is a bit of a learning
curve if you're not already familiar with cron, but frankly, I find it
easier to set up than most of these applications designed for it.
But of course, that does not mean my solution is for everybody.

There are no "drawbacks" as such - it just requires you to write your own
scripts.  I don't believe that fits into the category of "easy to set up
backup software".
