More information is needed about your system before anyone can give
you much insight to your
problem.
starting with which Ubuntu distribution are you using ?  did you check
the integrity of download and the burn
with md5sum ?

give some details about the computer you are using by pasting the
results of what you get in a terminal
with this command: lspci |grep VGA
and this:  cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep "(EE)"
