Is it NoOp ?  Got a link?  I'm curious what their reasoning is.

Daniel, use which ever tool works for you.
They get you to the same place in the end.

Here's a commonly quoted page promoting aptitude with reasoning.

I prefer aptitude because I remember it's commands better than apt-whatever.

Aptitude also has a terminal curses based menu driven mode which I never use.
I don't know if that would be useful to you or not, just a thought.
