Virtualisation with already installed XP?

I do know that using VMWare workstation you can boot existing partitions
instead of images. I guess windows won't like the new hardware
configuration though. If Workstation isn't an option, you can try if VMWare
Player can do this too. I recall reading something about KVM doing
something like this as well.
