I'm sorry Res, whatever you think about it, (and I guess everyone
already knows), but regarding my own experience as a newbie:

- Newcomers rarely, if ever, read /mailinglists/etiquette before their
first posting.
- Newcomers tend to top post since at least Outlook (?) an Gmail defaults to it.
- Top posters usually do not care about trimming.
- HTML posting is not welcome at all
- Our moderators (if any) give us an outstanding freedom to post and misbehave.

Thus I think it is more than adequate, it is indeed necessary to keep
alerting newcomers of their "misbehavior" regarding the accepted
conventions, always beginning these alerts with a "please" (you native
speakers always do) and really meaning it.

The only other alternative to the newcomer is learning by osmosys, and
it can take time.

And because of the freedom above mentioned, should these alerts be
given alternately by the regulars so that no one individual might have
the burden to carry the sheriff badge.

But then I guess it is the way it is already working, and it really
works and I only hope that someday my dear ubuntu-br will also comply
to these conventions.

And if it doesn't make sense, if anyone doesn't agree, just tell me or
keep me in the freeze, no flamewar starting intended.

Nice 9.04 for everyone and don't forget to read the Release Notes (before).

Lucio
