There really is a Xubuntu based cd, just install using it, and you
won't even have to add xubuntu-desktop. get it at
http://xubuntu.org/get
There is both the alternate and desktop cd available, the alternate cd
uses a text-based installer and requires less memory to install. The
desktop cd allows you to try before installing.
