You can download at:
http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download
Look for a .iso file. OK to put on your flashdrive.
Easiest is to put it on CD and run from there. (I just right-click on
the .iso to burn a CD).

In an Internet-cafe (or same place where you sent your email), you can
find information about LUGs (Linux User Groups): use Google.
 [BEST WAY ]
I got 20200 answers in .22 seconds when I googled for
 "LUG Philippines Linux"

You can get a CD with the latest Ubuntu. Do it this way:
In the Internet-cafe Google "Ubuntu download"
to make up your mind what you need/want.

If you have made contact with a local LUG (near or far), tell them your
heart's desire.
(if you are my neighbor within 50KM, you will have a CD within 24
hours).

I know that 600KM from here, in the capital, LUG members are happy to
make/send me a CD, for free or at minimal cost. I saw the offer. I never
needed it.

Another way to get a CD:
Visit https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ and click: Desktop-CD.

On that webpage it says:
Requesting an Ubuntu CD
Ubuntu is available free of charge and we can send you a CD of the
latest version (9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope)) with no extra cost, but the
delivery may take up to ten weeks, so you should consider downloading
the CD image if you have a fast Internet connection.

Alfred, Ubuntu-Linux is yours for the asking !

I ordered my first CD via: https://shipit.ubuntu.com/
 (years ago)

I received my second CD via the local LUG:
 "Please ask again"
(they make me feel ashamed, where you get something for nothing
nowadays?)
I have never gone any other place.

I now have broadband myself.
I give CDs to others, for free. I follow-up to make sure there are no
problems installing Ubuntu-Linux.

Find a LUG, near or far, you will be in for some pleasant surprises.

Herman in Philippines.
