No, not really. Just making noise that one should not put faith in good
reports by others who assert that Karmic was the most stable thing they
have ever used and who encourage you to move to Karmic to 'solve' stuff
encountered in Jaunty which may or may not be an actual Jaunty problem.
We're getting OT now but one more time. When I first installed Karmic, fresh, it was great and I had none of the issues others were complaining about. But things kept changing for the worst as bug fixes were added and packages were upgraded. Not the expected results is it. All the reports on the list attest to Karmic being buggy and anyone who installs fresh or upgrades should expect that or don't do it. What can anyone expect from the latest and greatest soffware-:o) I think Karmic is faster than earlier versions and has other improvements but needs to resolve startup issues and improve X window operations or else the manufacturess need to improve their video and/or sound drivers to work better with Karmic. Whoever.
If there is anything worth contributing, it may be my opinion that there
should updates/upgrades to 'broken' packages in Hardy (what's the point
of a LTS again?) such as pidgin not talking to Yahoo or Open Office not
opening docx files.
Don't use them except for OOo but no need for docx files so can't comment. Over and out for me-:o)
