Another question, is Grub able to bring up the grub menu so that you can
boot into Windows?

Yes, I can boot into Windows.

I open a /boot folder.

Going into terminal (booted on the cd) I get:
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ fdisk -l /dev/sda
Cannot open /dev/sda
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ fdisk -l /dev/sda1
Cannot open /dev/sda1
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ fdisk -l /dev/sda3
Cannot open /dev/sda3
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ fdisk -l /dev/sda2
Cannot open /dev/sda2
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ fdisk -l /dev/sda4
Cannot open /dev/sda4
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$

Trying to mount the sda's 1-4 I get:

ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ mount /dev/sda1
mount: can't find /dev/sda1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ mount /dev/sda2
mount: can't find /dev/sda2 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ mount /dev/sda3
mount: only root can mount /dev/sda3 on swap
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ mount /dev/sda4
mount: according to mtab, /dev/sda4 is already mounted on /media/disk
mount failed
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$ fdisk -l /dev/sda4
Cannot open /dev/sda4
