How to play a usb record player that shows up as "line in"?

Hi BJ,

You didn't say what else you had tried with the default mixer.  You
can record and play back, but that is playing back through the default
playback.  Under the same Sound... Preferences you should be able to
switch between the different sources that the volume control is
controlling.(?)  Did you already try this?
