Strange GNOME message captured

    I have been working on things and when I rebooted to Hardy I got the 
odd message which is:


        I had to copy this from the panel put up by Hardy:

There is an error starting the Gnome Settings Daemon.

Some things like themes,sounds, or background settings may not work 
correctly.

The last error message was:

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote
application did not send a reply, the reply timeout expired, or the
network connection was broken.

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in

    Does anyone else get this with their Ubuntu. Is it serious?
