Still have problems to login(change password) in new Dell netbook.

What your saying can't be right! When Grub comes up it gives you a
certain number of seconds to decide which to start. So it appears that
Grub is NOT coming up.
Part of what you say is you want to work with what BIOS has been set
to. This MIGHT be what you want and if so it is often the Delete key
held down while you turn on the laptop that drops you into BIOS. Also on
my laptop I reset the time it waits for the delete key to 6 seconds. It
looks funny but I'm 74 years old and getting slower...
Do you expect Grub to come up?
