Ubuntu 9.04 and the latest official Java JRE/JDK

Yes. I have used Firefox 3.5 with IcedTea plugin (checked with
about:plugins in FF).
I could run broadband speed test but don't know whether I saw exact UI
specified for SUN_JRE, if any. But test ran without a hitch.
