Ubuntu uses /media for dynamic mounts. It may be that /media was
re-created after an upgrade.
It may be safer to move these mounts to a directory that isn't affected
by upgrades/updates. For example, I haven't seen any Ubuntu
documentation that refers to /vol, so have used that for permanent
mounts of local file systems that aren't part of the standard structure.
(When I look at what my file systems are used for, it might make sense
to have them somewhere under /var, but there is more risk of a clash of
name space :(
Another consideration: These are NTFS (or possibly should be CIFS - but
that is a separate issue) file systems, and you use the 'user' option.
Is there a way of mounting them under the user home directory, rather
than as shared directories (and does this matter on this system)?
