virtualbox network problem

I suppose the problem is that your wifi interface doesn't support 
bridging. The current version of VirtualBox from their website uses a 
different setup with iptables instead of the hostinterface. Maybe you 
should try if that version works with your wifi interface. But make a 
backup of your virtual machine first. IIRC the new version makes changes 
to the VM which may not be compatible with the previous version in case 
you want to go back to the version you have now.
