Not specifically.  I  did, however, for about two months when I was working 
with a new system on which I didn't have time to fully setup Ubuntu, run 
VirtualBox VMs exactly this way.

No more than storing _any_ files on NTFS :-)

I wouldn't count on being able to suspend the VM on one host, and then 
restart in the other.  It _can_ work, but I had some issues.
