Two suggestions:

1. Please also provide links to the 2 (more?) launchpad bug reports and
1 (more?) question request(s) that you've filed. I saw them the other
day but haven't the time to look them up again; they will help folks
trying to help knowing that you did take the time to use launchpad.

2. It might be worthwhile to try 8.04 (hardy) rather than jaunty. There
have been considerable video driver issues in jaunty, some in intrepid,
but hardy is reasonably stable.
