No.  I'm pretty sure I wrote in this thread about my recent experience 
sharing a printer via cups (which is the same as Chris mentions below).

If the printer's accessible via cups, it should be visible at  
http://localhost:631/printers/.  If you can't find anything on port 631, you 
aren't running cups - but it should be installed by default.  If the page 
comes up, but there's no printers there, the system for adding one is pretty 
intuitive.  It's _way_ easier than using Samba, and I guarantee that a 
Windows VM can find it.
