NM front and backend do communication through hal and dbus, if you want
to adjust settings finding the proper dbus messages and send modified
ones to the backend might be an idea in case you want to script
stuff ... (dbus-monitor and the d-feet dbus debugger might come in handy
to monitor whats going across the bus from NM)
