Ubuntu 9.04 x64 segmentation faults

OS: Ubuntu 9.04 x64.


After installing Ubuntu 9.04 x64, from time to time, a running application (e.g. the default firefox) 
"disappears", and when trying to run the same application again from console, it produces the message 
"segmentation fault" and doesn't run.

After a restart the program runs again.

I have tested the system with memtest86+ successfully, and it is a new Acer Aspire 8920G laptop. I have 
reinstalled all Ubuntu 9.04 x64 installed packages via synaptic and apt-get from the internet, and fsck 
reports no problems (I haven't checked for bad blocks).
