Howdy, amd64 desktop Upon boot, Ubuntu hangs at at an X window, a regular timer icon. when I ctrl-alt-f1 ~$ tail -f /var/log/auth.log I see it filling with pam_nologin(gdm:auth): cannot determine username Any suggestions as to config files to check, workarounds, or kludges to get my desktop back would be appreciated.
