If Pakistan could take care of the Taleban and Al Aqaeda on their
end, there would be no need. But last I heard, the Pakistani government
allows them pretty much free range in the north of the country. They
seem to be caving in to Taleban's demands too, like allowing them
to practice Sharia laws, instead of obeying Pakistani laws.
We in the West wonders if Pakistan will turn into another Aghanistan.
Seeing as Pakistan has nukes, it's a really worrying sitation.

They have set up schools, but as long as the Taleban is as strong
as they are (due to being able to hide in Pakistan among other
reasons) , they won't allow it where it's most needed. Also, girls
are being killed or maimed for going to schools.

True. Otoh, it needs to be part of the solution. If NATO withdrew
from Afghanistan, what do you think would happen?
