First of all, Ubuntu should install just find via Wubi on Vista.
Second, 64-bit Ubuntu requires a 64-bit CPU like the AMD Athlon 64,
Athlon 64x2, Phenom or Intel Core 2 Dual, Core 2 Quad, or the dual
core Intel Atom 330 which I've heard is 64-bit.

To install Ubuntu using Wubi put the CD for Ubuntu in the CD/DVD drive
and when the CD's dialog box comes up choose the Install Inside
Windows option. From there you select which drive to install it to,
how much space you want to give Ubuntu, setup your username and
password and that's it. The rest is done automatically for you, the
installer edits the Windows boot menu for you also. Installing Ubuntu
via Wubi is really really easy.
