Are you sure the team would be best served having moderators that set
things as confrontational and forget the CoC principles when it comes to
asserting their personal opinion? Having to reach reasonable decisions
is hard to manage when working with someone that values his/her opinion
more than principles agreed upon by the community - or just elementary
decency*.

I've seen replies that contained only a polite request for a message to
be resend as text ("Please don't send your messages as HTML") flamed and
labeled as net police or net nazis... The request might have been a bit
short, and I'd rather we explained things in a nicer way to first time
users, but interpreting this simple request (a request that Ubuntu
mailing list etiquette also makes) as an aggression or an infringement
on our human rights... is that really constructive?

Instead of forming the moderator team as a loose group of uncontrollable
users each kept under leash by the adverse party, wouldn't it be better
to just get people that value the Ubuntu community and showed they're
more interested in helping others than proving their point?

* Trying to assimilate nazis to people offensive on a mailing list is a
rather debatable agenda.
