Back on this subject again... after a lot of playing around with
nvidia's driver, I now have Xinerama running two displays, but mplayer
plays my movies still quite bumpy, although the sounds is okay. However,
I discovered that without sound:

$ mplayer -ao null test.mov

the movie is fine. On the other hand, gxine plays a fine movie but the
sound comes out in blocks.
This makes me think that the problem may not be the graphics, but
instead the sound configuration.

My sound card is an Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97
Audio Controller (rev 02)

Is there a reason to suspect that it has been wrongly configured, and if
so, what can I do about it?
