Subject: What, exactly, does pci=nomsi do?

I know of a user who may or may not need to add the line pci=nomsi to
his kernel boot line. What exactly does this do? I have googled it and
I see it suggested in many forums, but with no clear explanation as to
what it does.

Here's a clear explainer of what MSIs are; Message Signaled Interrupts 
(via wikipedia)  This should shed light on the function of the 'pci=nomsi'
boot kernel command-line switch.Regards,
