Personally, I set myself up with three accounts:
*Root*, which I hardly ever use, except on a new setup where I have to
do a lot of configuring or some other major work.
My main account under my first *name*, set as an administrator. I have
to either use SUDO all the time, or get prompted for a password. But it
cautions me to double think about what I am doing.
My generic user account, usually with a *nickname*. This is the one
with no access at all. I use it to make sure that other users are able
to do things correctly. Such as when I install a program, I want to
make sure that the normal user has access to it, such as write
permissions. So this is also basically a test account.
So I would have accounts such as ROOT, EMIL, and SMORK.
Also, with multiple terminals, I can set up root on tty7, emil on tty8
and smork on tty9 and go back and forth easily while getting things set
up and testing. One of the things I like most about Linux!
