Thanks for the info.

Looks like one of these things that we will have to live with for 5+
years, until the people behind the wheel eventually recognize their
mistake...
I will have to add it to my long list of Gnome bugs that "I better try
to ignore and live with, as they are gonna stay for as long as it will
take Linux to overcome Windows (read: 25 years)..."

Oh well....
