Missing Linux apps on Windows

On my thumbdrive, I keep directory called /tools, which contains the GNU 
utilities for Windows - plus a few scripts I've built over the years. Any 
time I'm in a Windows-only environment, I dump it to /Prog Files and add 
it to the path. Job done.

(I also keep a git clone of jruby (with my favorite gems) for "real 
world" scripting in that limited Windows environment. Sometimes it pays 
dividends to break out of the packaged/install environment.)

There's also M$'s own Powershell, if you want to go there.
