Hello,
I'm trying to install kubuntu 9.04 without success: After selecting
"Install" I don't even get beyond the first splash screen. Same when I
try to start as a Live-CD. There appears to be problems with the
hardware.
When using no splash screen and "acpi=no", "noapic", "nolapic", then
the last messages on tty4 are:
bttv 0000:=2:0b.0: sharing IRQ 11 with 0000:02:0b.1
bttv0: BT878 (rev17) at 0000:02:0b.0, irq: 11, latency: 32, mmio: 0xde000000
bttv0: using: *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC *** [card=0,autodetected]
The hard disk is organized as a RAID 5 system using a Mylex-Controller
(DAC 960 PRL).
The graphics card is a Hercules 9600 or 9700.
Can anyone please tell me, what the problem is?
Greetings,
Thomas
