Hi there,

Have you rebooted yet since it happened? I opened Nautilus in root mode
earlier today, and it put the mounted partition icons back on my
desktop, which broke my Compiz settiings. I had to open Gconf editor,
and unset the show drive icons on desktop check mark for Nautilus in the
Applications section, then reboot to get Compiz working right again.

As an alternative fix, I could email you my .profile file for Compiz,
and you could use the Import button in the Compiz preferences section to
load the settings I use. You would likely have to change quite a few
things, but your desktop would rotate with the scroll wheel again.
