any linux programm can work on any linux install. The dependecies are
automatically fixed, at the expense of some disk space.
Nowaday, 256 Mo ram, 10 Gb (may be more is you need many LaTeX fonts)
Hard Drive, a PIII processor are a bare minimum, but you can think of
using one big machine and thin clients
