Intel video cards have problems painting portions of the screen, in some 
cases.  Now, when I posted this response I was thinking this was the 
Kubuntu, not Ubuntu, list.  afaik, the problem is strictly KDE related.

Anyway, some people claim it makes Jaunty unusable and want their money 
back.  I think it's worth a little pain for the improvements over the last 
two Kubuntu releases.
