Right now I am running Firefox 3.5 Beta 4, everything with all of the 
plugins and add-ons work...

So I have really never heard of someone not being able to connect up to 
the Internet as long as you do know that your system is connected to the 
internet...

My one, and only thought is that you just might have a check mark under 
the file menu top left hand corner where it says WORK OFFLINE...

Check that out...
