You are not alone. I have the same issue on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bits. One of
possible solutions is to use open source flash plugin for your browser
(swfdec plugin). But you will have other problems because it is
definitely worse for now. I submitted a bug regarding the issue.

Have you tried the new alpha Adobe fashplayer/plugin?
