failure to mount corrupted drive

...yet another update...

i let testdisk do a deeper scan after the first one,(it asked me) and it
came up with a bunch of directories.... documents and settings, windows,
etc  i was able to browse through each one, and use "c" to copy to
/home/ubuntu, i did this for each directory i found a jpg in, then scp
the directory to another box in the house.  was able to recover over 700
pictures.!!  let me say, its been quite a while since ive had to mess
with a corrupted drive, and this nice utility did a fine job, very easy
to use.  ubuntu rescue remix would be a fine addition to anyones
"toolbox" ...thanks everyone for the help, appreciate it!
