Well, not on 64 bit using the 64 bit libnpjp2.so from 
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.15/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so.
Even ran the test java on the link below which only confirmed it's not installed right.

Maybe when I read all the links you gave be but not yet. My neck is getting a crick in it so it's gonna be while unless some 64 bit kde user knows the solution and wishes to save me some time-:o0)  I'll be watching.
