You are probably correct. I was reading:

Only the Server Edition of Dapper Drake is still supported. The Desktop
Edition has reached EOL.

.
.6.06

    * Version: 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake) - Desktop Edition only
    * Desktop Edition EOL: July 14, 2009

      The Server Edition of Dapper Drake is supported until June 2011.
Only the Desktop Edition has reached EOL.

But if 6.06 Desktop is EOL, then I think you'd have to use the archived
repos to update & then upgrade?
